General - FAQ
How
do you know what version of AviMate you have?
You can check what version of AviMate you
currently have by first running AviMate. Then
click "Help" on the top menu. Then click on
"About". Look at the top right corner of the
dialog box. The version will be a number, dot, number,
dot, and a number, sometimes followed by a letter.
My
cage numbers do not sort properly, why?
The cage number field
is an alpha-numeric field. In other words, you may type a
letter or a number for your cage number. When a computer
sorts an alpha-numeric field, it starts with the first
character, and then the second, and so on. So if you have
cage 1 through 20 assigned, your sorting may appear as
follows:
Cage 1, 10,
11, ..., 18, 19, 2, 20, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.
The first
character in cage 10 is a 1 and the first character in
cage 2 is a 2, therefore cage 10 comes before cage 2.
To eliminate
this problem, you must pad your cage numbers with zeros.
Example: If you assign cage 1 as cage 01, 2 as 02, and so
on, your sort will look like:
Cage: 01, 02,
..., 09, 10, 11, ... 19, and 20.
If you have
over 100 cages you will have to pad your number with 2
zeros such as cage 001.
Can I
track inventory of my cages, brooders, etc.?
At this time, AviMate
does not offer tracking of cages, brooders, or any other
materials used to breed birds.

How can I get my
company logo printed on invoices and hatch certificates?
Replace the bitmap image file named logo.bmp in the AviMate 3 program folder (default location: c:\avimate3) with your logo. Your logo must be in Windows bitmap format measuring a maximum of 210 by 150 pixels and must be called logo.bmp.

Can I
track my expenses such as feed, cage materials, etc.?
Yes! AviMate 2 now
has the capability to track your expenses by category.
How
many birds can I store in AviMate?
AviMate can store
virtually an unlimited amount of records. You will
probably run out of hard drive space before you would
reach its limit.
How
can I move a baby to my Breeder Inventory?
Locate the baby In
your Nursery Inventory and click on the Remove/Transfer
button. Select Transfer, assign a cage number, and click
the OK button. Thats all there is to it.

AviMate 1 - FAQ
What
is the difference between AviMate and AviMate Lite?
AviMate is designed
for breeders of all sizes. It offers valuable tools for
creating invoices and tracking your production history.
The Lite was designed more for the hobbyist in mind. Lite
is restricted to only 10 records in the Breeder
Inventory, Clutch Activities, and Contact Log. It is also
restricts the number of Special Events you can have
scheduled to 3. It offers no invoice services or
Production History.
How
many pairs can I store in AviMate?
AviMate can store
virtually an unlimited amount of records. You will
probably run out of hard drive space before you would
reach it limit.
How
