AVIMATE 3 LAUNCH COMPLETE
Well, it's been 2 weeks since we released AviMate 3. All early bird orders
were filled over a week ago. In addition, we have some January 2001 orders
that qualify for free upgrades -- those orders will be filled on Monday, August
6.

SOME REGISTRATION CONFUSION
Each AviMate 3 purchaser received a personal license file from us, called
avimate.dll. It was sent either by e-mail or by floppy depending on
whether you ordered AviMate via download or wanted the CD. This file is to
be copied into the directory where AviMate 3 resides. (This will be
C:\AVIMATE3 unless you specified a different location during installation.)
Most folks had no problem, but some who received the floppy could not find
avimate.dll due to Windows Explorer being set to hide system files. To
eliminate this confusion, we've added in our latest maintenance fix (see below)
a "register" button that automatically copies your license file from
drive A: into the AviMate directory.

MAINTENANCE RELEASE (HOT FIX) AVAILABLE
Despite concerted beta testing prior to release, some AviMate 3 bugs have been
reported, and we have fixed the problems.
We recommend that AviMate 3 users download avi300b30.exe at
http://www.avimate.com/download.htm
. This "hot fix" file corrects the problems listed below.
After downloading this file, just double click on it from Windows Explorer and
it will automatically bring your AviMate 3 program up to our latest version
v3.00.30.

BUG FIX SUMMARY
Below are the fixes incorporated to date.
Version 3.00.30 (8/5/01):
1. Added registration button in trial screen and a REGISTER menu option in main
screen to assist user in applying personal license.
2. Hatch Reminder screen now shows all new clutches.
3. Corrected clutch report problem: error 20515, Error in File
C:\AVIMATE3\Reports\Clutch1.rpt: Error in formula <Record_Selection>.

4. Corrected pedigree report problem: error 20515, Error in File
C:\AVIMATE3\Reports\Pedigree.rpt: Error in formula <Record_Selection>.
'Not {NurseryInventory.Archived}.'
5. Corrected breeder photo problem: if photo was already assigned to a
breeder and its image was already in the photos folder, AviMate would ask if you
wanted to move the file. If answered Yes, AviMate would copy the image
file over itself and then delete it thinking it was the original copy.
6. When viewing/assigning a breeder record, user would occasionally receive a
run-time error 52, "Bad file name or number."
7. Corrected nursery inventory detailed report problem: last digit of
hatch date was not printing on some printers.
8. Corrected Breeder browse screen problem: deceased birds appearing under
all filters.
9. Corrected invoice problem: when selling a breeder bird, the invoice the
hatch date was displayed incorrectly.
10. All browse screens now remember your last sort and show selection.
Version 3.00.28 (7/24/01):
1. Corrected problems with adding and removing eggs in a clutch record.
Version 3.00.27 (7/22/01):
1. Corrected bird search problem.
