We are now at 33% of our sales target. We thank those who purchased AviMate 3 early. We missed our 50% target to assure a fat AviMate 3. However, just as the bird community did their best to support us, we will continue to do our best as well. We will incorporate as many of the proposed fat AviMate features as practical. It will have a "midi" set of features! --------------------------------------------------------------------- AVIMATE 3 PROGRESS We have made significant progress in coding AviMate 3. Here are some of the recent completions: 1. AviMate 3 is now a full 32-bit application with updated compatibility with Windows 2000 and ME ==> AviMate 3 should be readily compatible with operating systems Microsoft introduces in the coming years. 2. Brand new archive structure ==> enables us to make AviMate 3 more forgiving about incorrect data and to add new features like the invoicing of breeding stock and changing bad entries later. 3. Improved backup service ==> get more storage on a single diskette plus your backup data can now span as many diskettes as necessary. 4. Improved error trapping ==> we'll be able to diagnose and resolve your software problems with fewer e-mail Q and A's. Also AviMate 3 will seldom jump out to the operating system -- most issues will be fixed "on-the-fly." 5. Personalized software licensing ==> get a special file by e-mail or by floppy which assigns your copy of AviMate 3 directly to you. In line with personal licensing, we are evaluating the delivery of AviMate 3 using business card CD's, instead full-sized CD's. These new CD's are so compact they fit in your pocket. This way you could easily loan your AviMate 3 Software Pak business card CD to your friends (just don't share your personal license). Your friends could then install AviMate 3 (trial version) and personally see how to save time creating effective breeder records -- the kind author Rick Jordan recommends all serious breeders maintain. --------------------------------------------------------------------- BIRD SHOW DONATIONS We continue to explore ways to build win-win relationships with the bird breeder community. To this end, we will donate a free promotional copy of AviMate to at least 20 qualified bird shows. Along with the certificate entitling the bearer to a free AviMate CD, we will be throwing in BirdSpeech 101 CD's to use as "raffle stocking stuffers." This represents over $5,000 that we will be donating to the breeder community! Show officials should contact me at alex@buinc.com to work out donation details. Minimum requirements: make AviMate flyers available for pickup at the show plus whatever additional visibility you give similar sponsors.
