OUR CHIEF PROGRAMMER DELIVERS THE GOODS
Our chief programmer Kevin and his family celebrated the birth of Tabitha Christy  on 

May 7, 2001 weighing in at 7 pounds 10 ounces! Wife and baby doing fine.

Kevin also has completed the beta version of AviMate 3. Those interested can download  it at http://www.avimate.com/avi3beta.htm and try it out.

This beta has the old help files, but should be fully functional subject to the bugs typically  found in a beta release. Take AviMate 3 for a spin and report any problems you find. You  can even transfer your AviMate 2 database into it.

A word of caution: do not use AviMate 3 for permanent work -- keep using AviMate 2  for "real" work as slight changes in database structure may still occur when we issue our  final release in several weeks.

AVIMATE 3 PROGRESS
Here's a running list of AviMate 3 feature completions to date (the ones marked "new"  have been included since our last newsletter):

General
   * True 32-bit application
   * Enhanced error handling
   * Improved User Interface (NEW)
   * Improved archive structure
   * Personalized software licensing 

Breeder Inventory
   * Breeder records expanded to include deceased data as required
   * Display up to 2 photos with comments on each breeder record
   * Change sex of a breeder (must unpair to accomplish) (NEW)

Clutch Inventory
   * Parent data available even when in egg tab
   * Hatch reminder window resizable so all column info can be viewed

Nursery Inventory
   * Reason for death field now accepts unlimited text
   * Data collection of feeding information and chick weights (NEW)

Invoice Service
   * Sell breeder birds (NEW)
   * Print client phone number and email address on invoice (NEW)
   * Use own custom logo in invoices
   * Terms & Conditions space doubled to 3,072 characters

Expense Module
   * Add and modify expense categories

Contact Database
   * Add keyword fields and search off of these keywords (NEW)

Browse Screens
   * Print out any browse screen (NEW)
   * Export browse screen information to HTML or ASCII text file (NEW)

Hatch Certificate
   * Replaces old birth certificate
   * Use own custom logo in hatch certificate
   * Print hatch certificates in color if using a color printer (NEW)

Backup Service
   * Compressed files; can now span multiple floppies if necessary
