Boundaries Unlimited is pleased to share with you the progress we are making in developing NurseryAid as an optional plug-in for AviMate 3. Pardon the saw dust on the floor -- we have some heavy construction going on!

NurseryAid will enable a Palm-compatible personal digital assistant (PDA) to collect nursery data; such as feeding weight, chick weight, and administrative updates like changes in location, adding a band number, or adding special marking descriptions. Later, you can use the standard Palm HotSync program to upload this information into AviMate 3.

Think of NurseryAid as your remote extension of AviMate's Nursery Inventory service. AviMate maintains the complete database on each chick -- NurseryAid maintains a snapshot of the most recent readings. During each HotSync operation, AviMate sends all new chick information to NurseryAid so that the two databases always reflect correct information -- no matter where it is generated.

Here's the initial entry screen. We will provide a 10-trial period for evaluation purposes.

Here is the Registration Screen. The user ID shown above is needed for us to process your unique unlock code. If you previously purchased NurseryAid, you can provide the data requested at www.avimate.com/unlock.htm and we will e-mail you the unlock code once the information is validated.

As a registered user, you will come to this screen first. The current date and time is displayed. The date/time shown will automatically be entered into each reading that you take. If you desire a different date or time, you can tap the appropriate change button. From here, you can either enter new data or view existing chick data not yet uploaded.

If you tap the Enter Data button, you will go to this screen. Here you select the desired chick. (Note this screen is still under construction.)

Tapping on the desired chick will take you to this data entry screen. Typically, you will only enter feeding weight, chick weight, and crop status -- the rest of the information will be supplied by AviMate. You can, however, change chick location, add a band number, report special markings, and create a detailed note if you wish. All this administrative information will be updated into AviMate after the next HotSync operation.

As with AviMate, NurseryAid will have detailed help screens to assist you in its use.

Palm PDA Requirements:

NurseryAid is currently working on a PDA with a Palm Operating System of 3.3 and another at 3.5. (It should work with Palm Operating Systems as low as 2.5, but this needs to be confirmed during beta testing.)
Approximately 150K of free Palm memory.

PC Requirements:

Requires AviMate 3. (NurseryAid is not designed to be a standalone program.).
